When you see your stamp no longer prints as before, it can be for two reasons. First, the stamp is too saturated with ink from being used a lot and needs to be cleaned or the ink pad has already lost pigment. And the good news is that there is a solution for both :)
For the first problem, you only need a damp cloth. For the second one, you only need one bottle of ink to refill the pad. Here you will find the bottle of Peony Purple ink to fill your Purple VersaCraft pad but on our website, you will find many more colors.
And how do I fill my ink pad? Before refilling the pad you have to shake the bottle and apply it evenly: from left to right, from top to bottom, and diagonally. Let it absorb for a while and it's ready to use.
VersaCraft ink is perfect for stamping on porous paper, natural fabrics like cotton or linen, unpainted wood, Japanese papers, and even unglazed ceramics. Use the ink as a background or accent in mixed media projects, combining it with other materials such as paint, markers, and collage elements.
If you use it on fabric, we recommend ironing the garment on the reverse, so it will withstand more washes. Iron it at a high temperature (the one that the garment allows) for about 15 seconds.

BITERSWIT GUIDE: HOW TO USE AND CARE FOR YOUR STAMPS
Here’s our Biterswit guide with tips to care for your stamps and inks.
HOW TO USE FABRIC INK
The best fabrics for stamping this ink are natural fibers like cotton, linen, and silk. The ink sets with the heat of an iron and holds up best on cotton and linen, although keep in mind this is not a permanent ink. You can also stamp on rayon or polyester, but on synthetic fabrics the ink will be water-resistant, not washproof.
1. Apply the ink gently. You’ll waste less and get a cleaner print than if you press the stamp onto the ink pad like there’s no tomorrow. No need to overload it.
2. Always test your stamp on paper first. Try a few times until it looks just right. Practice makes perfect! Once it’s working well, re-ink your stamp and start stamping on fabric.
3. Let the fabric dry completely. To heat-set the ink, iron the stamped fabric on the reverse side for about 15 seconds. This helps the print last longer in the wash. If you skip the ironing, it’ll still hold up—just not as long. Tip: place a piece of cloth between the iron and your fabric. Recommended heat: Cotton/High setting.
4. For washing, use gentle cycles and cold water. Once the print fades after many washes, just go back to step 2 and stamp it again!
5. To heat-set VersaCraft ink on wood or terracotta, use a hair dryer.
HOW DO I REINK AN INK PAD?
1. Shake the ink bottle well (if it’s already open, make sure the cap is tightly closed first).
2. Apply the ink evenly over the pad—from left to right, top to bottom, and diagonally. Repeat this process twice.
3. Let the pad rest a few minutes so the ink can absorb properly.
* TIP: After applying the ink, you can use a plastic spoon or small spatula to gently press and spread the ink into the pad. Then apply more ink if needed.
IMPORTANT NOTES
* These instructions are for VersaCraft inks. If you’re using a different ink brand, check the manufacturer’s instructions.
* The longevity of your print depends on the type of fabric and wash temperature (natural fibers + cold water = best results). Keep in mind that this is a domestic ink and not 100% permanent—it will fade gradually with repeated washing.
* VersaCraft inks are suitable for fabric, wood, paper, and uncoated cardstock. For glossy surfaces, you’ll need a different ink. Be sure the ink is dry before touching the print.
